Happy Christmas & Merry New Year! Part II

Okay, bcos Chinese New Year is bout less than 24 hours away, I figured it will be good to finish off my 'Happy Christmas & Merry New Year!' post. Hehe.

With Jia Hui at the Medical Museum

After Christmas, I pretty much bummed around for a few days due to the festive mood. And then, thank God something in me shook and woke me up in realisation that exam was only a few days away.

Inspired from Dr. Gregory House

And so my optimism yet again caused me trouble when I finally realised that I will need to buck up and stop being so optimistic if I would want to look forward to surviving my Semester 1 exam.

On the eve of my exam, I wasnt convinced that I was prepared enough to face my 1st exam in medical school. And so, I stayed up studying and finally konk-ed and had 3 hours of sleep before exam.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. My exam was on New Year's Eve.

Exam. Confident. Feedback session. Dumbfounded. Die.

Feedback session is a slot where we will all proceed to a lecture hall and the lecturer will show us the answer to the questions for the exam paper we just sat for. Not only it's bad enough to have our exam on New Year's Eve, but we also already know our results on the very same day.

After emo-ing for a while in uni, I was on the lrt heading to Times Square. After all that studying, I just couldnt wait to PARTEY the night away!!!

Met up with Alex and then we were on our way to Sg. Long to pick Jamie and Yvonne up. It took us bout 3 hours if I'm not wrong, to get to Sg. Long and back to Times Square.

Met up with the others, had dinner at Kiku Zakura and went to Cold Storage to get some booze. Alex booked us a suite at the Times Square hotel.

Absolutely beautiful! The toilet is so beautiful! I can just live in there. But I will have to pay $600 a night to do so.

Then when it was about time, we left the suite and headed to Sg. Wang for the countdown. We bought those party foams, 1 can each. Honestly it wasnt enough! Next year at least 2 cans each!

Bout 10 minutes before midnight, we reached Sg Wang. Squeezed through the crowd to get as close to the stage as possible. And then not long after that the countdown started and..

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

DSC_6532

Everyone sprayed party foam into the air. WOOHOOO!!!! I was so excited that I got chocked on the foam while screaming.

We went back to the suite and that's when the real party started! Games. Booze. Booze. Booze. Woozy. Bully Weng Keet. Laugh. Die.

Due to exam, I forgot my camera, but that's really okay, because Jamie and Grace brought their DSLRs!

But the only photo I got was this

Drink Drank Drunk. The party ended at 6am. As I only had 3 hours of sleep before exam, I managed to get some sleep. But for only 2 hours. Cos I felt like puking lying on my back. 13 of us in a room, you can imagine how we tried to find a spot to sleep.

Watching 'Shutter' on TV

Hangover.

Those that were up and also those that havent slept yet, walked to Imbi for breakfast. Where we ended up having the worst breakfast ever. Soya bean tasted like almond juice. Kolo mee tasted like oyster sauce.

Elaine puked.

We then watched 'Around the World in 80 days' on TV. And fell asleep. And at last at around 4pm, we bade our suite farewell.

And with that,
We officially welcomed our New Year.

Puppy Rescue Mission: Twitter

Hi there, I believe there are some problems with my twitter... It was 2.30 am and I was tying 'tali rafia' so that I can make a 'vest' for the puppy to reinforce the chain around it's neck. So that it wont be able to escape as well as being able to walk about. Could not put it in a large basin, it would make alot of noise as it doesnt like to be 'contained'.

Neighbours would complain about the noise.

Picked up some trash lying around infront of my neighbour's house. With my bare hands. At 2.30 in the morning. The mother dog ransacked the neighbour's garbage.

Neighbours would complain about the notority.

Anyway, here're my twitter updates on the puppy rescue mission. Until I take the time to blog properly about it :)

Handphone Blues

When you don't have a handphone for 4 days, you experience communication breakdown.

Butterflies in my tummy

Just got back home a while ago from Cineleisure and The Curve where we had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp, chilled at Starbucks (more like stoning due to lack of sleep), watched Ip Man (awesome!) and got back to Kajang for dinner at Pan Mee Lat Tong.

I was just sitting around, chatted abit.

And then .. Like WOAH! I suddenly had like a panic attack. Like out of the blues.

I suddenly NEED a calendar to write down all the things I plan to do this year.

And I NO LONGER think that I SHOULDNT make any resolutions this year.

This is gonna be a productive year. And how? Because Terri says so.

; )

Happy Christmas & Merry New Year! (Part I)

  • I know it's abit overdue. But here's what happened during my Xmas n New Year!

DC061208029
Taken 2 years ago. But looks christmas-ey.
Can't resist to put it up =P

On Christmas Day, I was abit too excited that without realising, I wished a couple of friends and relatives  'HAPPY NEW YEAR!' instead. I was welcoming the new year with open arms, ready to start things anew and of course to let down my hair and party the night away!

I was involved in the Christmas choir for the English Ministry led by Mr. Siow who is a 90 year old man WHO plays the piano (sight reads very well too) and the accordian. He can even teach us the song, plus he is very sane for a 90 year old, and lectures us when we don't listen to his instructions. We had 2 violinists, 1 pianist and 1 accordian to accompany the choir.

An accordian
An accordian

Most of the people in the choir are married with teenage kids. And I'm one of the few young people there. However, I kinda enjoy being in the company of older people, especially when they don't seem to discriminate you for your age and also being able to hold engaging conversations with you despite your age. You learn alot from listening to what they have to say and their experiences are priceless. And from listening to their conversation, you kinda realise that they're not very much different from us too, that they talk the way we do and probably joke more than us too.

***

My church has this Annual Christmas Luncheon. So after the Christmas Thanksgiving Service in the morning, we will all proceed to the nearby Kajang Restaurant which has been renovated and bought over by Hee Lai Ton. So, this year the luncheon is much grander than the previous years.

My family buys about 10 tables every year. So we kinda always win at least 1 lucky draw every year. Those days, we would cheer and make lotsa noise, but this year, the table numbers are all jumbled up, so most of us didn't quite notice if any of our tables won anything.

After lunch we pretty much just went back to our respective homes or treat ourselves with our own activities.

Immersed in the Xmas mood, I spent the next few days lazing around and going for family dinners with relatives. Did not touch my books for 3 days, so much so that I almost fried my exam.

Got a couple of presents. It's getting less every year, lol.

For the last few days leading to New Year's eve, I was basically making up for time lost by desperately swallowing books for my exam . Or I would rather say, I tried.

Part II up soon! ;)

Post New Year

It's 3rd of January. And I'm sure its pretty late for me to do this, but better late than never rite?

So here goes,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

<3 <3 <3 muaks!

Hold on a sec,

kisses exclusive for my girlfwens only. Guys, u get a high 5!

It has been a pretty good start so far. Bad year left behind, Good year ahead hopefully! I need one haha. I'm pretty lazy to write bout what i've done in 2008. So here's just a very brief note on how the year had been treating me b4 I blog another better one soon.

Despite the fact that I had been holiday-ing for 7 months from feb til august, year 2008 has been quite eventful. Lotsa ups *clap clap clap* and lotsa downs *aww* But it has been quite educational thus far (not the books kinda education).

Looking back at 2007, I have definitely changed alot in 2008. My personality, mentally, emotionally, my enthuasiasm, my ego, my mood and temper, etc etc etc. Some are good changes, some are not. And for every good changes, it comes with something undesirable. I've become more alert with alot of things, but at the same time I've become quite judgemental and subsequently, bitter and distant. I've gotten quite fed up with trying to be tolerant and taking care of other's feelings, hence I've adapted to being indifferent but at the same time I tend to hurt people's feelings as well.

As much as I love myself (cheh =P) I know what are my shortcomings and I know I will need to change for the better. Maybe not now, not today, not tomorrow.. but just as how I've changed today, I will pick up along the way day after day.

And for that, I am sorry if I've hurt anyone of you or have not been there as much as I should.

And for all those who has been part of my life, thank you for making it a wonderful and colourful one. I am truly blessed to have an absolutely wonderful family and fantastic friends.

=)

We are designed to amplify the bad things and forget the good things when anything bad comes along. You will only truly realise how fortunate you are when you take some time to reflect on the good things and really count your blessings. For one, we are still fit and healthy, with roofs over heads and people to love.

And for that, 2008 isnt that bad a year after all.

Godspeed!
