Damn U, IMU

Times like this, I feel like wringling someone’s neck (IT Dept head’s neck to be precise). Not only our exam’s coming up next week, now our I-drive is not accessible!

I-drive’s this place we go online to get our lecture notes. And in IMU, lecture notes are very very important. Other medical schools, please don’t add to our stress by telling us to read from books instead.

1) IMU’s curriculum is very very focused. Meaning, you read beyond the scope you are just wasting your time.

2) IMU lecture notes have shitloads of things to memorise. Because we have been given notes, we cannot say we don’t know. It is very unlike universities that follow objectives and read from books, so exam questions are very different over here. You need to know every single detail in the lecture notes. Call it spoonfeeding if you want, but our exams are way tougher. Don’t believe? Not my problem. You better don’t start a debate with us.

3) IMU IT Department’s doing some sorta maintenance on the I-drive. WITHOUT prior notice. I always went into cardiac arrest when I couldn’t access it on Friday evening.

4) Maintenance period supposed to be until yesterday, Sat 7pm. It’s been 7 hours, and no sign of it back online yet.

5) The SRC has informed us to inform them whether there’s any problems with the I-drive (after the migration of servers) next week. NEXT WEEK. WE DO NOT HAVE NEXT WEEK IF YOU START TROUBLESHOOTING ON MONDAY. BLOODY >:(

6) We cannot seem to contact the IT department directly.

7) We are freaking stressed. Actually I was alright before this shit happened, NOW I AM FREAKING STRESSED.

8) We can get the notes from our friends. Of course we thought about it. But everybody’s stressing out for the exam, and it is not very convenient to get it from each other. Mariam helped me out fortunately (owe you one gal!) But we cannot keep badgering each other for help can we? We can only pester someone so much.

9) It’s Sunday, and IMU will be CLOSED.

10) WTH is wrong with IMU? Is $330k not enough for you? Please stop torturing us. Just let us study, sit for the exams, and graduate in peace. I beg of you.
